The Threshold

«The scene begins even before the shot.
A slow approach, almost a gesture of trust.
The face enters the frame as if crossing a threshold.
The light — harsh, direct — forgives nothing:
texture, shadows, vibrations of the skin become part of the story.

The gaze does not seek the lens: it goes beyond it.
It is directed toward something that remains outside the frame,
toward a thought that does not want to be interrupted.

It is the day of fifty years, and this closeness becomes a declaration:
not a reckoning, not a celebration, but a moment of truth.
The self‑portrait becomes an intimate scene, a meeting with oneself.
There is no pose, no construction:
only a body that offers itself in its material truth, and a light that interrogates it.

It is a story of proximity: skin becoming landscape,
identity revealing itself precisely at the point where it stops being controlled.
An image that does not mark a milestone, but a passage: a silent threshold.»
